The Cuyo Region

Cuyo is the region of the high peaks, the snowy volcanoes and the vast crossroads that extend from the Andes and the mountain ranges foothills to the steppe plain.

The visit to the Natural Parks Ischigualasto and Talampaya (declared World Heritage Sites) is a real journey to the age of the dinosaurs. Ischigualasto, also called "Valle de la Luna" (Moon Valley) by the amazing shapes and colours of its scenery carved by the erosion, is one of the most important paleontological locations in the world. The canyon of the Talampaya river outstands you with the diverse wrinkles of its high and reddish walls.
This region shows the Central Andes in all their splendour, with the Aconcagua mountain (6.959 m), the highest altitude in the western hemisphere, besides, it promises adventures, history and tradition. Also mount Aconcagua offers you climbing expeditions, mountain guides and trekking.
In the valleys from La Rioja, San Luis, Mendoza and San Juan, among vine leafs , farms and wineries , you can distinguish the route of the wines , an international appreciated elixir.
