Villa La Angostura Family-friendly Hotels

Perched above the mouth of the Correntoso River and facing due west across to the Andes, the Correntoso Hotel was founded in 1922 as a fishing destination for Bariloche residents who crossed the lake by boat. Now it feels like a clean, natural, and fresh mountain lodge. The lobby is stunning, with glass ceilings, large leather couches, and an enormous fireplace. The huge library has big sofas, heritage maps, and another fireplace. The gourmet restaurant is open to the public and worth a visit for the views alone — hotel guests have access to the choicest tables. Down at the dock, there is another charming but less formal restaurant. The property is full of walking trails and berry bushes. All but six of the rooms have fabulous views over the lake. Corner room nos. 309 and 409 have the very best views. There’s a lovely new spa with a gorgeous indoor/outdoor pool, and 16 new suites tucked behind the spa. This is a complete hotel experience and the most family-friendly of the upscale options in Villa La Angostura. We recommend you visit: argentina tours.

Villa La Angostura Inns

One of the greatest inns in Villa La Angostura, the award-winning Relais & Châteaux-affiliated Las Balsas has the airs of a country cottage, and an unbeatable lakefront setting (neighbors are among the wealthiest folk in Argentina). From the moment you walk in, you’ll feel relaxed and at home. Common areas range from a big-screen TV room upstairs to a living room with a massive fireplace, comfortable couches, and coffee-table books. With only 15 rooms, this place ensures that guests get away from it all. English-speaking staff members are very charming and attentive without being stuffy or condescending, which enhances the air of exclusivity here. There is a strong focus on details, from fresh orange slices by the pool to imported teas. Rooms are generally small — this inn in Villa La Angostura was built long before the McMansion-style hotel trends of late — but they make up for their limited size with character. Each room is different, and all have bright windows overlooking the lake; none have televisions. Floors are a bit squeaky on the ground floor.

The inn‘s restaurant is world-class. The spa next door doesn’t quite match the inn, and the gym should be moved out of the tranquil relaxation area, but the services are specialized and indulgent. Most things, from the food to the excursions, are very expensive here. Nonguests can enjoy a memorable lakeside lunch at the restaurant.
