ACONCAGUA PROVINCIAL PARK SEASON OPENER SUSPENDED

The park ranger Luis Arias, ATE delegate spoke to Radio Nihuil last Friday, and confirmed that unfortunately there was no agreement with the Environment Secretariat; therefore the season of Aconcagua Provincial Park does not begin today. The request of personnel, clothing, communications, vehicles, among others, needed to cater for tourists and protect the flora and fauna of the province of Mendoza were made in May, and we reach this date with the same deficiency, without obtaining a favorable response.

Park rangers are not only needed for Aconcagua, but for all other protected areas in the region, said Arias.

After the meeting, it was decided for tomorrow at 10 am a parity with the Secretariat of Environment and after it, to convene a meeting of rangers that will depend on the government’s response.
