Expomin receives the Argentine province of San Juan

Today begins the show mining in Chile most relevant in Latin America, Expomin 2008, and at the booth of Argentina attended by officials, providers and employers in the San Juan province. Also attending Jaime BergÃ©, president of the Mining Chamber of San Juan representing the business sector as well as his own company, BTZ. It is expected that the secretary of the National Mining, Jorge Mayoral, head of the national party.

Saavedra traveled to Chile a day earlier because he was invited to lecture in a day of ECLAC on the growth of peoples for mine development.

Expomin is considered one of the most important mining fairs in the world, is held every two years since 1990 in Santiago, Chile, according to the information on its official website. It presents technology, equipment, machinery, services, inputs and outputs for mining. In its latest edition involved 25 countries and 40,000 visitors for this year think having the same number of countries but with many more visitors, some 60,000 according to its organizers, FISA SA.

They have also projected a turnover of 1,300 million dollars, involving 920 companies and 3,000 brands in the mining sector.

The event will take place at the Events Center Espacio Riesco between 15 and 18 April and expected to increase surface from 13% in relation to the exhibition space used in the previous version, done in 2006.

This increase will be distributed to 34,054 square meters, divided into four wards, over an area of 16,120 square meters uncovered. The organization of the sample is headed by a committee of honour, which is chaired by the Minister Karen Poniachik, with Alfredo Ovalle, President of the National Mining Society (SONAMI) and Francisco Costabal, President of the Council Miner. In addition, the event has an organizing committee composed of representatives from the Ministry of Mining, SONAMI, Mining Council, Aprimin, Cesco, Editec-publisher of magazines Chilean Mining and Electricity Inter-and FISA, as the organizer.
