Nahuel Huapi National Park

Being the oldest Argentine national park, Nahuel Huapi National Park is worth visiting. It is located in the south-West of the province of Neuquén and Northwest of the province of Rio Negro. Most of the tourists who visit this beautiful park stay at the hotels in San Carlos de Bariloche, one of the most outstanding tourist destinations in Argentina.

Nahuel Huapi National Park is recognized by its rich wildlife, beautiful landscapes and the various biotopes that it covers. In this park you can see: coihues, arrayanes,ferns and ñires, among other plants. There are also numerous animals which can be seen in Nahuel Huapi National park such as huemuls, pudus, guanacos and condors.
The various lakes in the park (Lago Mascardi, Lago Gutiérrez, Lago Moreno and many others) are really beautiful. It must be said that this area is known as the Argentine Lake Distric.
Tourists who visit this park usually enjoy skiing in Cerro Catedral which is a peak within the Park that has become one of the most important ski resorts in Argentina.
However, if you are keen on climbing, you should enjoy Aconcagua expeditions in the province of Mendoza that is not so far away the capital city of Neuquén.
